Once John Galt Racing started participating in the Lucky Dog Racing League events, the requirement for headlamps and back lit numbers arose. The stock 1974 BMW Model 2002 alternator could only put out 45 amps. John Galt Racing had to modify the mounting brackets to fit a modern 90 amp Bosch AL49X alternator into the car.
